Tuesday, 12th July 2000 was the most exciting day for me as far as Irishdancing was concerned. I was to perform at my High School's yearly Dance Show, being the youngest participant to take part. After many decisions I had chosen Michael Flatley's 'Cry of the Celts' from the spectacular Lord of the Dance. It was an amazing experience and was well worth the long nights staying behind at school at rehearsals, and the amount of effort everyone put in to support me.
I spent about three hours beforehand getting ready, and warming up and all the students in Year 10 - who were also taking part in different dances - were amazed how I could do 'rocks' and were trying to do them too!
I was really nervous as I 'floated' onto the stage, but knew I would be okay as soon as I started dancing and met eye contact with the audience. I received the biggest buzz a I performed and everyone was clapping their hands in time to the music. They all cheered afterwards and left me with the biggest smile on my face!
